Rancho Minerva Gets Back On The (Blender) Bikes

November 18th, 2019

Rancho Minerva Middle School students were able to cycle their way to refreshment recently as WaveCrest Cafe’s blender bikes made a return visit to the school. The bikes made their first visit in the spring of 2019 and were so popular that ingredients ran out before all students has a chance to taste the delicious smoothies. We came back prepared for more, and the day’s ingredients included bananas, apple juice, and frozen apricot juice for what was surely a delectable drink.

6th, 7th, and 8th graders hopped on the bikes over the course of two 40-minute lunch periods to churn fruit and liquid into smoothies that were enjoyed by all. Our blender bikes run on human power, so it was up to RMMS students to deliver the power. These fun events are a great way for students to get a little exercise while also opting for healthy alternatives to soft drinks.

We’d like to thank the RMMS staff for coordinating and making sure WaveCrest Cafe had everything they needed to execute this awesome lunchtime activity.
